29.04.08 VP MicroLab highly ranked in Innovation Top 100
The VP MicroLab—designed by GBO—was ranked seventh in the Dutch Innovation Top 100. The high-tech instrument was developed Virtual Proteins which was founded in 2003. The VP MicroLab is a virtual reality-system which assists in developing medication.
All data which is needed for creating the medicine, can be visually analysed and developed in 3D space. This way the process is much faster than calculating formulas on paper.
The product exists of hardware as well as software. The hardware is a microscope, the VP MicroLab, and a so-called manipulator. You can look at computer models in your hands by use of cameras. The software can recreate essential animations: like simulating the interaction between molecules.
