MKB Design.Brabant (Dutch only) and Syntens (Dutch only) have published a film about the cooperation between two companies from Brabant. Commissioned by Haval Disposables GBO developed coffee trays, stirrers and a coffee cup holder. The latter product even won a Red Dot Award.

The latest result of the collaboration between Haval and GBO is the Tulip Cutlery which will be produced in a biopolymer. Up.
Recently the program 3×Raaien (3 Guesses) appeared on regional television station Brabant10. The quiz is about Brabant’s culture, economy and history and challenges candidates to put their knowledge to the test. In the program the Wilnest Contego, which was designed by GBO, was used as a trophy.

Tonight GBO DESIGN will be awarded a prestigious Henry van de Velde label for the design of the Doutreligne Seven grand piano. The recognition will be handed over by Minister President Kris Peters in the Flemish Parliament. After the presentation of the awards, the exhibition ‘Henry van de Velde Awards 2011’ is opened. The exhibition runs in the ‘Lokettenzaal’ of the Flemish Parliament, until February 25.

Capital D Cafe (Dutch only) is the second in a series of café’s following the exhibition Made in Brainport (Dutch only). It shows the strength of ‘Smartest regions’ with products and concepts, in which manufacturing and design come together. Jeroen op ten Berg will give a lecture at the café of Tuesday, January 24th on the design process of the Tulpi.

Our team is reinforced with ir. Tommie van Cranenbroek and ir. Bas Groenendaal. Tommie has an extensive experience in the development of home theater accessories. He finished the IPO in The Hague and has a Master’s degree Integrated Product Design (IPD) at TU Delft. Bas has his education in Industrial Design, taught at the University of Eindhoven and has a background in developing interactive play material. Up.
During the Convenience & Paper Show in Rosmalen, the Benelux Office Products Awards 2011 have been awarded. Smit Visual Supplies received two awards, of which one in the category Office Interior / Accessories. This product was developed by GBO DESIGN in close collaboration with Smit Visual from first sketch to 3D CAD files for serial production.

Thursday, November 25, several journalists visited Brabant ‘design pearls’ with ’Merk Brabant‘ (Brand Brabant), including Vlisco and GBO DESIGN in Helmond. Merk Brabant is an initiative of the Province of Brabant. The province organizes these trips for journalists to visit unique Brabant companies. Besides explanation of the design process the 3D printer was demonstrated.

Students of Food Design & Innovation of the HAS visited GBO on November 21 under the supervision of teacher and Food Designer Annelies Hermsen. GBO sponsors the HAS with Solid Works CAD programs that are provided for by Cadmes. GBO also assists teachers from the HAS with Packaging Design and engineering. Jeroen op ten berg of GBO illustrated the design process with cases of Heineken, Sara Lee and Fano Fine Food Food.
